Help & Support
Support & Resources
Whether you're seeking help for yourself or supporting someone you love, you'll find trusted information, guidance, and direct connections to care right here.
Mental Health Support
Mental health is health. These resources can help you understand, navigate, and find support for emotional well-being and mental health challenges.
Understanding Mental Health
EducationMental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act — and it's just as important as physical health. Conditions like depression, anxiety, PTSD, and bipolar disorder are common, treatable, and nothing to be ashamed of.
When to Seek Help
GuidanceYou don't have to be in crisis to reach out. If you're feeling persistently sad, overwhelmed, disconnected, or struggling to manage daily life, speaking with a mental health professional can make a real difference. Early support leads to better outcomes.
Trauma-Informed Care
TreatmentMany mental health challenges are rooted in past trauma. Trauma-informed care recognizes the widespread impact of trauma and integrates that understanding into every aspect of treatment — creating a safe, supportive environment for healing.
Culturally Responsive Mental Health
Our ApproachEffective mental health care honors your cultural background, language, and lived experience. At Alliance Wellness Center, we provide care that reflects the diverse communities we serve across Minnesota — because your identity matters in your healing.

Substance Use & Recovery Support
Recovery is possible. These resources offer education, guidance, and pathways to treatment for individuals and families affected by substance use.
What Is Substance Use Disorder?
Substance use disorder (SUD) is a recognized medical condition — not a moral failing. It affects brain chemistry and behavior, making it difficult to stop using a substance despite harmful consequences. Like other chronic conditions, SUD responds well to evidence-based treatment and ongoing support.
Co-Occurring Disorders
Many people experiencing addiction also live with mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, or trauma. These are called co-occurring or dual-diagnosis disorders. Treating both together — as Alliance Wellness Center does — leads to significantly better recovery outcomes.
Levels of Care
Treatment is not one-size-fits-all. Depending on your needs, care may range from standard outpatient counseling to Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) or Intensive Residential Treatment Services (IRTS). A comprehensive assessment helps determine the right fit for you.
Recovery Is a Journey
Recovery rarely follows a straight line. Setbacks are a normal part of the process — not a sign of failure. With the right support, tools, and community, lasting recovery is achievable. Alliance Wellness Center is here to walk alongside you at every stage.

Support for Families & Loved Ones
When someone you love is struggling, it affects the whole family. These resources are here to support you too.
You Are Not Alone
Loving someone with a substance use disorder or mental health condition can be exhausting, confusing, and heartbreaking. Your feelings are valid. Reaching out for support — for yourself — is not a betrayal. It's one of the most important things you can do.
How to Support Without Enabling
Supporting a loved one in recovery means finding the balance between compassion and boundaries. Enabling — such as covering up consequences or providing money for substances — can unintentionally prolong addiction. A counselor can help you navigate this with care.
Family Involvement in Treatment
Family involvement can be a powerful part of recovery. With your loved one's consent, Alliance Wellness Center welcomes family participation in the treatment process — including education, communication support, and guidance on how to be a healthy part of their recovery.
Taking Care of Yourself
Caregiver burnout is real. Prioritizing your own mental and emotional health isn't selfish — it's necessary. Support groups, individual counseling, and community resources are available to help family members and loved ones find their own footing.
